Smarty pants!

Lots to tell you today, between the awards, the blog candy and colour challenges, phew! There is such a buzz in the blog air at the moment, a definite excitement about. Lots of candy on offer too, between my candy (please scroll up and leave a comment) and some wonderful friends of mine Steph & Kate's (whoo hoo ladies) candy. Steph has just re-launched her new blog and is one of the most gorgeous, generous and talented ladies I know, please stop by and say hi, you won't know how you survived without her and her beautiful creations. Also her partner in crime over at a passion for papertrey, Kate another super talented lady and kindred spirit, who has the amazing ability to inspire everyone who meets her.

To my award now from another talented lady JULS( I am surrounded by so much class). Thank you so much, it really does mean a lot me, she really does spoil me with all her very flattering comments - thank you hunny ;D

Deep breath, are you still with me, we're in the home stretch now lol! I like to give a little explanation sometimes for my post titles when they are not so obvious. Today is in honour of Lesley Edwards, the smarty pants (which is also a song title, can you see a pattern emerging lol) who guessed that yesterday's post title 'I talk to the trees' was sung by none other than CLINT EASTWOOD ?! in Paint Your Wagon, I think. I can't imagine big Clint singing, but sing he did. Top of the class for you Lesley, please email me your address and I will pop a little something in the post for you :D

Lastly (I promise) my card for today, which I sort of LOVE and I must thank the talent of the creator of this bag for the mega inspiration. I am entering it into Dawn McVey's colour challenge, hope you like it. I think it looks like limes and pink grapefruit, yummy :D

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

I talk to the trees

I sit here giggling a little to myself and feeling a bit sorry for my old man hee hee. Quite apt I call him that as he is seven years older than me! It started when I couldn't think of a title for this card and what usually happens is I tell him the theme of the card and ask if he knows any songs. He said straight away 'I talk to the trees' and I said I had never heard of it and joked was it released before 1985? He said nothing and then 'it's very famous you know'. So if anyone can guess who sang it (without googling it - you little minxes) I will send you a little something ;D.

This card is for a bit of fun, I happily discovered when I was having my disastrous craft day. I had tried to punch out a scalloped circle (I couldn't live without my Stampin' Up! punches) from some paper, I hadn't cut it out fully but what I had cut out looked like the top of a tree. So I sat down with my son and experimented with the punches to make a fun card he can give to a friend.

Hope you like it, have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Hey, hey we're the monkeys !

You see I do know a lot of songs with monkeys in the title! What a fun day we had yesterday. There were balloon makers, magicians, face painters and me of course. My son and I had a wonderful time. I was so pleased that a new friend of mine could call along, the lovely Tina - hi Tina. She made me a beautiful little gift box and gave me a pile of stamping magazines - how thoughtful is that.

I am so tired now after all that fun and I had a little glass of wine when it had all finished. Gosh I am such a lightweight now when it comes to drinking. Half a glass of wine at 6pm and I'm ready for bed LOL.

Bat out of hell

Well that was my son as he ran from the classroom on his last day in reception class yesterday. I have decided that he is not allowed to be any older than five and will definitely not be allowed to return to school in September as a year 1 pupil. You wouldn't guess that I can't believe he is growing up too fast (filling up a little, sniff, sniff) and don't want him to, quite yet hee hee.

This the last of the teacher's thank you cards - this one goes with the red picnic basket from here. Looking at this card now, it looks a little 'Christmassy'? Oh well, it's done and given now LOL. Please join me tomorrow as I will be announcing some BLOG CANDY :D I have reached 10,000 hits. I can't believe it, not only that I have had some many lovely people pop by but that I have done daily posting for the last 110 days!

All in co-ordinating colours, of course. The cupcakes on this were made really easily with the 1 1/4 " and 1 3/8" circle punch from Stampin' Up! Always take the weather

More picnic baskets, even though THIS IS NOT PICNIC WEATHER! more like bog snorkeling weather. I am planning on making another one of these then letting my son choose which teacher and teaching assistant they go to, as he's the one who knows them the best.

Here is a shot of the top of the lid, I had the ideas for these cupcakes after seeing some bunting being cut with pinking sheers on the telly and it made me think of cupcake cases. Would like to also mention the lovely Jan, who is really lovely and without fail always pops by with a kind word or two. I am so touched , she has given me an award - thank you so much, I truly appreciate it.

Have a great day & see you tommorrow xx

If you go down to the woods today....

.... you'll probably find me in my tipee LOL . This is such a busy time of year, as some of you will know. With concerts, sports day, parties and making lots of goodies for the Teachers and the assistants. This little basket is for one of the teachers at my son's school and when given it will be filled with coordinating smellies, any will do as long as they either red or cream to match, of course LOL ;D

It is such a happy coincidence that my very good friends, the lovely Steph & Kate have a challenge over on their blog to make a project with Lauren Meader's templates, which luckily I have by making my picnic basket from her template here.

Have a great weekend & see you tomorrow xx

Supplies from Stampin' Up! - Card stock: real red and very vanilla, ribbon: old olive. Non SU - green tea leaves collection paper, new leaf vintage buttons and pure poppy saddle stitch ribbon from PTI.

Pretty green eyes

This card was inspired by a few things that I have seen and done over the last couple of days. On Tuesday I attended a seminar through work on 'positive thinking' and although quite enjoyable and different there are always moments at these type of things that I glaze over and feel decidedly sleepy. So to keep myself awake I was like a naughty student and doodled all over the one of the handouts they had given me with card sketches and colour combinations. The colour combination I used on this card was from the dress that the main speaker wore. The colours being certainly celery, garden green, whisper white and basic grey. The other inspiration for this card was from the layout of this pretty card.

I leave you with one of the riddles we were set at the seminar. What belongs to you, but is used more by others than yourself? (is it my money shouts my husband from the kitchen? LOL)

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Our house

This card was made because I realised while at the craft fayre on the weekend I had not made any 'new home' cards - doh! The houses on this card are from the neighborhood wheel from Stampin' Up! (page 26 in the main idea book). It has always reminded me of the cartoon - Charlie Brown, I don't know why :D

After my craft fayre debut I have now been asked to attend a fundraiser for Marie Curie at the Monkey Cafe ( my boy would fit right in hee hee) on Castle Street in Swansea on Saturday 25th of July between 2 - 5 pm. The theme is ladies day, but I have been told there will be lots to do with the little ones too. Pop by if you can - I would love to meet you :D

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Look at those sandals - I am in love with this stamp set, I had overlooked it in the Stampin' Up! mini catalogue,on page 10 (look to the left) it's called just beachy but am so glad I ordered it now as I have lots of ideas on how to use it.

Today could be the greatest day of my life

Well I can officially call myself an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator for Swansea and my front room hee hee - I am so excited! About 15 months ago I stumbled across a project in one of the paper craft magazines which totally blew me away. I had been card making for a couple of years but had not seen anything like it. The minute I ordered the catalogue and saw Stampin' Up!'s products there was never any going back to other companies. So it is with a very smiley heart that I introduce myself to you. Although I will probably be my best customer for a while I will offer a little something to my very first customer, maybe £5 to spend on anything you like in the catalogue when you spend over £25 :D - could it be yooooooooooooouuuuuuu LOL.

This card, although you can't see it is embossed with Stampin' Up!'s gold embossing powder. I have never used any type of gold embossing powder before (have used other colours) and was so impressed with the fine detail that is still maintained on this intricate stamp. This card is for my Father who's birthday it is tomorrow.

Oooh I nearly forgot, at the craft fayre on Saturday I held a free raffle to customers and yesterday my son pulled a ticket out of the hat, the winner was Aleanna from Bristol - hooray! I will pop that in the post today for you - congratulations. On offer was some gorgeous little goodies from of course, Stampin' Up!

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Are you going to Scarborough Fair

All the fun of the fayre. I'm afraid my little dance the other day proved no use as it widdled it down. But it didn't dampen the spirits of the crafty folk of Mumbles. Although I didn't make enough money to retire to the Bahamas there was a good turn out and people were very enthusiastic about my little things :D

Sorry the pics are a bit poor but it was so dark at 8.30 yesterday morning when I took them. Also see for a giggle my little funny one about my blog ;D. I would like to give a huge thanks for all your well wishes too and espcially Joanne who I must now call mother ;D (i'll explain tomorrow) who geneoursly donated some Stampin' Up! goodies to raffle off - thanks so much, your the best.

I am pooped but happy, have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

P.s click on the pictures for a real good nosey ;D

Here comes the sun

This is an offering I made yesterday to the sun spirit accompanied by a little dance around the patio for good weather today for the craft fayre. It has forecast some real humdingers of storms :(

Yesterday was not much better, I don't know if you can see but the photo is quite dark and the wall behind the card is wet with rain. I had to run out with my brolly to take the pic.

Just another mojo Monday (remix)

Inspired by this great sketch from mojo Monday. I just had to use this little paper flower I had punched out some pages from an old broken book with Stampin' Up!s scallop circle punch, made some cuts and then layered. I chalked the edges for definition and popped a button on.

It has been such a busy week for me as I have been preparing for the craft fayre which I should have publicised before - doh ! But it's at the Ostreme Centre, Mumbles (really pretty place) in Swansea on Saturday 11th of July 10- 4 pm.

If anyone comes along and mentions the blog they might get a little prize ;D

Doctor, Doctor

Everybody open wide, stick out their tongues and say aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh. Let Dr Emma explain lol, while teepee shopping last Sunday I went into one of these shops where they sell all sorts of pretty and quirky little things. I came upon some book marks and on scrutinising them they were like 2 very large lollipop sticks put on top of each other, with one slighter higher than the other with a sheep at the top it.

My crafty juices started to flow and thought hmm that's so simple I'll have a go. I was thinking shall I use lollipop sticks, are they going to be wide enough or shall I have a look around the internet. It suddenly dawned on me what I could use were tongue depressants from the surgery I work in! Don't worry the NHS purse isn't been drained of it's resources by me ;D, they are the one's the reps bring in. I have been thinking for more uses for the tongue depressants, maybe using it like chipboard and covering or painting them ?

Let me know what you think, have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Ruby Tuesday

You see, I can get away with this title as the card was made on a Tuesday and is using ruby red card stock LOL! I had this card in my mind as soon as I received this yummy twill tape and it has to be one of the quickest cards I've ever thunk, cut, stamped and fussed with ;D.

I would like to give a special mention to the lovely Tina from my home town of Swansea who dropped me a great email recently. I can't believe that finally I have found someone from the same town who shares my obsession, at last! :D. So everyone shout a big "hello" to her. I am so glad you got in touch, maybe we could meet up in the not to distant future and stroke some paper together ;D

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Hot butter *#!*#**!

Well if you thought I was mad before boy are you gonna think I am a real whack job now. But it is my daily rambling I write about and I usually start off with what's in my head at the precise moment I start writing this. So at this very moment I have been thinking about a stupid song I can't get out of my mind. I was watching the Simpsons a few nights ago and it was the one where Homer enters a 'gross out' competition. He covered his whole body in popcorn kernels and butter then used a hairdryer to make them pop whilst singing the song "hot butter" and hence the title because I CAN'T STOP SINGING THE BLINKIN THING LOL!

This is the last little card to complete my fruity box, just have to do a few little tags and I'm done :D

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Supplies from Stampin' Up! - Stamps: tart & tangy and pocket silhouettes. Card stock: Old olive, real red and whisper white. Ink: real red and old olive, paper: pumpkin pie and old olive designer series paper. Ribbon: real red wide grosgrain.

What have you done today

Well I have to mention first one of the most amazing games of tennis I have ever watched. We were taking every shot for both players in the end I felt it so much - awesome!

But back to the title, well today I have done lots of things. Firstly we bought a teepee and I know what some of you may be thinking, Woodstock, Mamas and the papas, pooing in a peat toilet and passing a big long pipe, but you should see it it's really cool and was on offer in Argos ;D as we are planning to get away for some long weekends. Heaven help us mind as I haven't been camping in years, I am such an old women at 34 hee hee and like my creature comforts. But in my day I roughed it with the best of them and can't wait.

Altogether today we bought a teepee, went for a long walk on the beach, did some food shopping, watched an amazing game of tennis, made a card, performed my 'going back to work tomorrow' ablutions, seen to my little scamp, wrote up my post for today and finally made another card to photograph tomorrow morning (when there is good light before I go to work).

Wow this is such a long post for me, but I had fun. Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

The party's over

Well the party is over for Andy Murray but what a ride! I think I have aged 10 years over the last week with all the anxiety, tension and excitement. He's still really young and am sure will be back again next year for another roller coaster ride.

Another card for my fruity box and I used the unusual layout from this card here as it really appealed to me.

Some little note cards to go in my fruity stationary box from yesterday. I love doing these boxes, they are lots of work but you feel such a sense of achievement when finished. This is my version of the wonderful Jackie Topa's original design with her template here . I thought it would be great to give as teachers gifts too.

Blinkin flip it's hot, I am not used to this weather. We're in July and it's supposed to be raining - right? and as you can see from my photo it is scorchio here in South Wales. Well actually the coloured card stock is not quite navy and I know, I know I hear you cry kraft again! sorry but I am seeking professional help for my over use of it now hee hee. But it looked too darn good with the other colours. I though it would be a perfect colour combo for male cards.
